Engineers at LEITNER ropeways know that innovations must never compromise reliability. Consequently, all components of the LEITNER control system individually or in combination provide a reliable and perfectly tuned logic. It builds first and foremost on one criterion: Its intuitive handling during operation is the measure of all things! LEITNER ropeways mainly aim at easing work. “Any machine is only as good as it feels to the operator in its handling. This sensation is then transferred on to guests in the ski resort enjoying functional installations alongside perfectly groomed slopes.
For the machine operator, working with the control system needs to be pleasant as well”, says Günter Tschinkel, Head of Electrical Engineering at LEITNER ropeways. The LEITNER control system including visualization is offering just this in all its parts: from the perfect hardware to a well thought-out software to attractive and advanced terminals for automated operation. All processes at a glance and in a single step LEITNER ropeways design engineers and experts managed to make cable transport control systems attractive. “Cable transport control systems used to be monstrosities full of switches, display areas and flashing lights.
We have turned this into an elegant, stylish product that excels with intuitive handling, perfect usability and simplicity. The motto behind this: as many switches and displays as necessary and at the same time as few as possible”, says chief executive Anton Seeber. These efforts result in products such as LeitControl. It requires only one operating console to perform all functionality required in day to day operation. While traditional control systems require of up to seven steps to complete some operations, using LeitControl these are stored and can be recalled in a single step, upon which they are carried out automatically and without further interaction.
This makes work at the system self-explanatory and can be explained even to newcomers in a very short time”, says Anton Seeber. Another benefit: All installations in a ski resort can be monitored from one terminal and viewed at a glance using LEITNER visualization. This Windows-based process visualization system not only simplifies work but also makes it more attractive. “All processes can be grasped at a glance and can be completed in a single step transparent, practical and absolutely user-friendly”, says Günter Tschinkel.
The visualization allows users to separately display individual cabins or chairs and to store information by the carrier. Due to an Ethernet link to the control system, all data and information of the installation are provided centrally and can be used for remote diagnostics and maintenance via LAN or the Internet. Günter Tschinkel: “These optimized processes, combined with the highest technical standards, have massively changed the control system, taking the future to the present!” ah
